We start Thursday with 15 chicks (3 americana 6 red rhodes and 6 golden comets) and in a couple weeks 6 khaki Campbell's.... Any advice? Tips? Especially pertaining to new York weather? Feeding? Etc... Done a ton of research so far and use to help a bit with a friends chickens....but Yea. These are mine and my sis' this time lol... Just thought to add...I've learned a ton from this site to build our coops and other stuff....hence why I joined

Hello fellow new chicken upstate new yorkers here. We are located about a half hour west of syracuse. We picked 6 rhode island reds and a coop. We were hoping to get other breeds but tsc hoodwinked us.lol. so we are learn as we go.so our biggest concern so far is the winters. So any advice sharing would be awesome

I ordered from hoovers in Iowa free shipping and min 15 order but had the three breeds we were looking for. We live up near fort drum. I'm originally from just north of Syracuse... Clay... So know the 81 corridor pretty well

Good for you on preparing for the new arrivals! Don't be surprised if your sister doesn't become attached to the chicks too...it's practically impossible to not fall for those little fuzz butts.
