North Huntingdon PA Changing Ordinance

Hello, we are in the process of trying to get our local ordinance changed to allow BYC. Currently as it stands you have to own between 10-20 acres to raise chickens and only 3 to own a horse. My wife and I as well as some other locals have been attending meetings in order to try to get this ordinance changed. Back in 2013 this was almost accomplished, but the local board voted it down. It appears as though we have a majority of the board agreeing to look into changing this ordinance. We have a change.org petition with over 1300 signatures, more than 500 are local to us. Request to change North Huntingdon chicken ordinance If anyone wants to sign this go ahead, but if you know anyone in the 15642 area please ask them to support us.

Have you also posted to the Support backyard chickens and bees in Pittsburgh! group on Facebook?

That's where I go, personally, when I am looking for "local chicken stuff" and keep BYC for "general chicken stuff, and cute chicken pictures/stories."

Yes, I have posted on the local Facebook groups, I just wanted to reach as many people as I can, so I figured if there was anyone here that is not on Facebook they would see it as well.
