Hello,
I see that this thread is not very active, please point me in the right direction if there is a better thread to follow. I’m in Young County a little further west of DFW and Tarrant and Wise counties. I’ve been raising chickens for almost 15 years at this location and off and on all my life.
I’m searching for some pullets 5-8months old to add to my flock. My egg demand has risen due to the CoVid-19!

I live closer to Decatur. I have a cousin that lives in Irving. She recently mailed me an article that was in the paper about a man in the Dallas area that puts one of his chickens in a stroller & takes her for daily walks. I
I've got one red sexlink hen that is in love with my side by side 4 wheeler. She loves riding in it & will chase after it to try & get on. I've never seen such craziness. Tell us about your flock!
I'm between Denton and Decatur. How about this weather? My hens don't mind. I'm getting 10 eggs from 12 hens! I know that will slow down but enjoying it for now!

Anyone here in Manfield keeping BYCs?

I've been reading this forum extensively before becoming a member. Such a great source of information, so thank y'all! And hi!

I'm in Decatur. My husband and I just moved out here coming up on a year now. This past year was my first year raising a flock. I currently have rhode island reds, barred rocks, and an exchequer leghorn. Lost 2 hens and our roo to the heat and a hawk this summer, unfortunately. I recently ordered 4 black copper marans (1 is a cockerel) and they should arrive in a week. We're a young family with kids and excited to be starting our own homestead. :yesss:

If I can advise you please don’t buy a store bought already made coop. Build your own or have someone build one for you. The already made ones are cheaply made and don’t hold the amount of chickens they claim they do

Where did you get your exchequer? I had to look that up, but WOW what a gorgeous pattern!

I’m wondering if 88 is a crucial detail in time associated with your user ID?
Birth, graduation, or major life event?

‘88 was a major time stamp for me but, that’s for another time.
