We went to the Northeast Poultry Congress today to check out all the different chickens etc. I though I would share a few pictures. There were many, many breeds but we basically just took pictures of breeds we may be interested in getting as first time chicken keepers. I have a short video too not sure if I can post that though.

I don't know why my pics aren't coming over. I'll try again. And as a side note we are not getting Polish or Silkie but couldn't resist a picture of them.

I learned two important things today..

1. It is very difficult to get a good picture of a chicken. They were so beautiful but it doesn't come across in the pictures.

2. Buff Orpingtons are HUGE and very very fluffy. Way bigger than I thought they were. Probably my favorite of the show. The picture does not show its size or beauty.

3. The bantams were so pretty too. I can see why people love them. They are probably a better choice when chicken math sets in.
4. Its hard to leave a chicken show empty handed. There were a lot of cool chickens for sale. But, no coop=no chickens.

Ok that was four things...

Ok, 5. Bantam ducks are adorable.

Thats it!

Chickens are like kids They do not cooperate when you try to get a picture.

Thanks for the pics. I always want to go, but am overruled. Were there a ton of bantams? Any idea which breeds won?
