Northeastern Poultry Congress - Springfield, Mass - Jan 14-15, 2012

I am going to be there. I am not sure I am ready to man the table. I would like to hang out.

Do you have a time slot open thst NEEDS someone to fill?

Phew am I glad BYC is back up! I have a stupid newbie question for you all. I am going to be purchasing a blue cochin roo (

) thanks to everyone that gave me leads to Jamie Matts, and I was wondering how I should transport him home? I have a large van (GMC Safari) so I was thinking that I could put him in a metal dog crate in the back and cover the crate with a blanket to keep him calm. The other problem is - and this is where you have my permission to laugh - I'm not sure how to get him from the actual show to the car. Should I just get a box? I have a cat carrier I could bring with me but I'm worried he might not fit in the carrier. I apologize for my dumb question, I hope someone can give me some advice! Thank you!

Aww, c'mon...you got more posts than me. I don't have a clue what I have gotten myself into.
We are just gonna relax, and have fun. NO stress. I mean, what do you really need to know?
Hopefully, I will get the goodie box soon....
We will have handouts, and just let everyone know that the cool people are members of BYC, and they can join, too!
I was going to bake cookies, but still haven't given everyone baths. I really am insane.
Will just stop at the store.
And post your ideas here, too! I always can use help in that dept.

I am getting eggs from Jamie!!

Either option would work fine. if your carrier is not big enough, bring a box that is bigger.

Ms. Stoopid - is this in reply to me? :)

Do you have a time that you have a need for someone to cover? Are we bringing camp chairs to hang at the table with others? DH asked me what we would need chairs for...this should be fun.

Yes, I am not a good quoter, and a slow typer, so the more confusing.....
All the times are filled for one person, but it would be great for two at the same time.
I have 4 chairs in my car right now, if you have the room, bring them, but not too critical.
I don't know how many shows you have been to, but every one I have has had NO PLACE to sit!
And to anyone who has been here, should I bring a heater?
Just don't know if power will be a problem....

The building is heated and the outside temps will be in the 30s so it should be comfortable...and unfortunately I doubt you'll have access to an outlet.
