Hardy, Arkansas
We're leaving Central Illinois in a week or so to move to our new homestead in Northern Arkansas near Hardy. It's only about 30 minutes from Mammoth Springs and Missouri. Woohoo its going to be a wild ride. The journey has already been full of new experiences. We're glad we took the leap of faith and went back to the land. We're committed to helping endangered heritage breeds and healthy living with no chemicals or GMO's. We'll do the best we can and learn from our mistakes and ask for help when we need it. Any mentors out there in our area of Arkansas or Southern Missouri?

God Bless and Take Care

and welcome to the South! It is different down here than up north, and we all hope you like it. You are entering some very beautiful country. (Okay, so I'm a bit jealous! I grew up where there were way more mountains than we have in North Texas!!!) Congratulations and plenty of encouragement for going "back to the land" and walking away from industrial farming. We have been on a very long path of transition for many years now, and hopefully we are almost there! Keep us all up to date about how it goes for you and yours.

I am sure you will find lots of like minded folks there in that part of Arkansas. Every day is a chance to learn something new. So, here's my advice (worth what you paid for it!):

Ask questions of everyone...everyone knows something. Keep what works for you, and don't feel guilty about the rest.

Have a great trip and Happy Fourth of July!

Welcome to Arkansas! I'm in the central part of the state and a real newbie to chicken keeping, but I do love this state. That part of AR is beautiful!
