Hello my families chicken coop has been having severe northern fowl mites latly. we have gave them ivimectin and also sprayed them with a spray for mites and lice. If we find one that has them we wash them and it normally takes care of all the mites.

We have started to get them very bad now. we get rid of it and they are back on within days. or we check them one day and they are clean and the next they are loaded. does anyone now any way to get rid of them or what to use to clean the coop?

Thanks

JS

im not sure where you are. And i have never had this problem but here is what i would do. Clean your birds in a light bleach bath in the morning. Blow dry them. Spray them & dust them. But them outside in a clean cage. Completely clean coop. PAINT COOP. (Smother them) Inside & out. Then put insectrin dust over everything esp. heavy on roosts. Put chickens in. Clean coop with vinegar every day. See how it works. Eventually you can stop cleaning it so often again but always dust.
