Hey there Swampducks! Yeah, I don't have to.... I know. I have enjoyed selling my birds even though I do it very small scale. I am very new to doing it, but what I did hatch out was very healthy! And I am always tempted to bring home at least one critter, lol. Especially geese it seems!


Anish - Yes. I have button quail. Chinese Painted quail is the official name. I used to breed them, but everyone kept asking if they could eat them. No demand for pet quail really I suppose over here. They are about the size of a chicken egg and the cutest things, lol

laura877 -- Alright. It is so nice of you to offer a place out there! I am sort of a shy hermit, but I'd love to come to this event! I am over in Hubbard Lake. I map-quested it and it shows about 1 1/2 hours travel time. I would really like to meet some more poultry friends and see some of their birds. I have never actually been to a swap yet except a small one a friend hosted up at our local TSC.

!!!!! I have been looking on CL for two months for some of those little guys that arent clear at the other end on the state. OH! TOO CUTE!! Want....to...touch!!!!

I have some Cayugas, rouen, pekin, and possibly a couple of indian runner drakes if they will not be eaten. How much are you asking for your quail and are you in the market for any ducks .

Well I think you should come join us! It isnt going to be very big and the weather might not be the best it could be, but darn it we are going to have a good time! Or at least try.

Shy people are welcome too, especially if they bring little tiny quail

. I'm just kidding. You would be more than welcome to come along with or without quail . If you are feeling shy, you can just sit there and watch all of us nuts chat about chickens, that's what my husband plans to do (he's a very shy hermit type too, so I do get it). Anyway, I hope you can make it .

Dang, the hermits must be coming out of the woodwork! My husband is a hermit. A lot of people in this town think I'm married to someone else because some of my friends are guys and they only see me with them, not DH. But he wants to come, can't figure out why. He is a hunter though so if anyone wants to talk hunting, he'll fit in a lot better!

Ah Kimmie, Is that your ad I read on Criag's list this AM? I had to look up the breed. Not many of them. I like the color of yours.
And yes, doesn't that just beat all that they can be taken in their enclosures and yet not when loose necessarily. I haven't lost any yet, but, if I do, I'll cry!

Hi Karen! I just noticed you asked me a question. Yes that's my ad but no takers I woud love to keep him to. My son is making me another coop and run so maybe I can keep him.

Hi all, sorry to say I won't be able to come this year I had to go 200 miles south of Chicago last Thrusday which costed me a small fortune. Unles something good happens today.

Working on seeing if I can make it...I now have the funds, but need the truck. We only have the one vehicle because the car broke down on us.

Oh My Gosh!! That is so funny! I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! I either have people think I am married to someone else or they want to know what happened to my husband and when I started dating the new guy! My husband doesnt hunt, but he was in the USMC. So, he can always find a way to talk guns, lol. He does however, like to fish ( took me years to get him into fishing, lol!).
