Trying to plan for my spring sewing. I grow all from seed in my tiny greenhouse but am still able to yield 200+ plants.

Brussel sprouts didn’t fare well for us last year.. neither did the tomatoes or corn..

We like our gmo free seeds and use local manure (and home brewed from our birds and rabbits)

We have one big garden in the ground (root veg garden) and Planning to build a bunch of above ground boxes..

What grows well in the area and what do you all recommend?! Looking for ideas and recommendations! We are NOT picky eaters and will eat what ever we can grow!!

Hi, I just happened to see your thread and wondered if you had chatted with other members in Canada? In case you haven't found it yet, here's a link to take you to your country thread:Canada

Best of luck to you with your garden!

Thanks. I’m brand new to this site and am working out how to do things. I don’t see any specific gardening stuff in the Canada forums.. I’ll perhaps try again in the Canada one.

What growing zone are you in? I'm in 4B. Here's a book that you might enjoy. I've found it to be a valuable resource. When growing under plastic, in cold frame or green house, you gain 1.5 growing zones for every layer of protection. Thus, a covered bed inside a cold frame or green house nets you 3 growing zones! This will easily extend your growing season 6 weeks on either end of the season.

That’s great thank you! I’ll definitly look into the book!

As for zones I’m not too sure.. I’m just south of North Bay.

I usually start my root veggies as soon as the ground thaws.. so far so good. And the other stuff I start in my greenhouse I plant first week of June.

I’ve been experimenting with different types of things and am quickly discovering that I’m better at growing anything in my greenhouse but after planting... not so much. Lol
