I love my Jaerhon flock! This Scandinavian breed is light-weight, agile and alert, which is ideal for my high Colorado farm. They do well on a diet of forest foraging in the warm months, are very aware of predators and also are light enough to fly up into the trees to elude the occasional fox. They lay for me even in winter, thriving on a whole grain and greens such as spinach and kale.
Eggs are a creamy white and medium-to-quite-large in size.
Another wonderful aspect with Jaerhons: they are easily color-sexed at hatching.
Only the freshest eggs are carefully packed and shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Hatch rate with my shipped eggs has been excellent.
