Last night I was gone, so my father locked up my free range birds for me. Well I woke up this morning to find he had left out two and a Buff Orp, and Light Brahma hen got eaten.

We just got rid of our Great Pry, because the man in the house disliked her and my family was tired of fighting about it. We never lost a bird while she was here. Now it seems the predators have realized she isn't here anymore... Not good.

Also my favorite silkie;my only silkie rooster which I bought all the way from Flordia has Cocci. And won't get better. I expect to find him dead in the morning. I love him so much. It makes me want to cry.

Also my ducks are in a 6' uncovered pen. So I am scared that something will climb over and munch them.

Gah my poor birds. I am so ticked that I had to get rid of my dog. And I am ticked that I can't save my silkie. Why is it always the favorites that have the bad luck.

What have you given your Silkie to treat the Cocci? You need to give him a good course of meds and syringe feed him if you have to.

Get a tarp to cover your duck pen. That will at least help with unwanted predators.

I have been giving sulmet. But he won't eat or drink. So I am having to dip his beak and try to get him to eat that way but it's really not working. How do you syringe feed him? I tried an eyedropped but it wasn't working well. I doubt he will still be alive in the morning, but if he is I will try anything.

Also I am hoping to pick up a tarp tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time. :'(

Hoping the rooster pulls through. You really need to get that dropper to the back of his mouth to make it go down. And sometimes it will come back out if he gets his head down before the medicine makes it into the gullet.
