Oh I didn't even recognize that as a pea comb, I thought it was too spiky, the only chickens we have with pea combs for comparison are young Easter Egger hens so far

It's not a true pea comb since it has all the spikes... But that's exactly what it looks like when you cross a pea comb with a single comb. The modified pea comb is usually 3 rows of spikes on roosters.

The only way to know his genetics is to test breed him. Best would be putting him over a white egg laying hen, then grow the pullets out and see what color eggs they lay. He could quite possibly have one white and one blue egg gene, which would fit in nicely with your EE. Then again, he could have two brown egg genes, it's impossible to say.

In chickens egg shel color there is only 2 real colors:
White -gene o
Blue -gene O
So the combinations are:
oo-white
Oo-blue
OO- blue
The whit is the "Wilde type" and the chicken ancestors the Red and green Jungle Fowl laid. The blue is probably a mutant gene that produce oocyanin, which is the blue color derived from bile.
The brown color is just an over coating of protoporphyrin which is a color derived from hemoglobin,over a white shell.
so it is not really a color!

It'd be a long time to grow out pullets... Does anyone know if I hatched chicks would the type of comb of the resulting chicks be any indicator as to this rooster's cross?
