Hi everyone! I need some ideas of what to look for in my hen. They free range during the day and are locked in coup at night. She is a game bird of some type that was given to me probably a year ago. She is very alert, but is not eating. Now getting weak. I gave her about 3ml of electrolyte solution dropped on her beak that she swallowed. But then spit up. The spit up is definatly stinky, like chicken poo or something.
What can I check or do to help her.
As I said, they free range on a farm with horses and cows and have mini layer pellets available at all times, with scratch and meal worms as snacks.
Thank you!

I will read the article and hopefully learn what happened. Unfortunately my hen passed away. While feeling her croup yesterday it was noted to be very large and mushy. (She had not been seen eating for several days.) She must have drunken water because just palpating it caused her to vomit large amounts of liquid. I tilted her forward for it to drain out but I am sure that she had aspirated. It literally ran out of her mouth, nose and even eyes.
She passed away not long after.😥
Thank you for those that read and commented.
