Not Again!!!!! Babies are back!!! An update after 7months

I have a GSD pup that I keep inside for now and my CC had been bit by a black widow. I had her inside tended to her and then she went into heat and I had to keep her safe. Plus the run flooded and I'm just now feeling like i can do a little bit here and there, so working on it this week before I have to leave for the weekend.

Godiva is 10 oz I think for $5.99......Bill used to always buy it for me. I'm not big on ice cream unless it's homemade, but it ate it 24/7. Never seen anyone eat that much and never gain a pound. I gained for him. Funny but since he died I have eaten more ice crean the past few months than I did in probably 3 years. Just can't afford the Godiva

Gotta go pick up feed, but wanted to update.

Met the wife! What a nice lady. I'm still upset, but these people lost a son in Iraq. Husband started drinking two years ago when it happened and she said this told him he needs help, so we'll see. She also asked if she could see the chickens. I don't let people back there, but I have some that hatched yesterday and took them out for her to see. The son did 4H and had chickens. His dog died a couple of months after he did. She said she wants both and husband keeps telling her they'll just die.

We ended up sitting on my porch and crying together. She was so embarrassed, but we just talked and cried and we were smiling and laughing when she left.

Hope he really gets some help.

Wolftracks sounds like grief counseling should be at the top of the list for both of them. How said, it sounds like that movie "Rabbit Hole" that never made it to our local theatre. It's about a couple that lost their child and one wanted to go on with their life and the other was just stuck in the gloom & doom. Each was mad at the other for the way they handled such a horrible loss. They get into group counseling.

I've been in various groups over the years and mostly they helped me alot - family and friends just didn't "get it." While strangers that had gone thru similiar circumstances really lightened the load. When you get a group that really clicks with each other - mountains can be moved. My one- on- one therapy didn't come close.

Wish I could give you and her a big hug but NOT her husband till he sobers up. I think you both were brought together for a reason. Please keep us in the loop - I'm subscribing to this thread. It's always good to discover we haven't been singled out for misfortune, everyone of us has suffered in some way. Just know the Bycers have your back.

By thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Oh I missed all that! I'm glad your CC got over being bit. I don't know how I missed that but I did.

I'm sending thoughts and prayers to you and your visitors.

They really are beautiful dogs. Kind of like big floppy goofballs though. LOL I raised and showed Rotties for 20 year while I studied up on Corsi and I'll tell you I love both breeds. Thing about a Corso though is a softer mouth, which means slobber. Isis is great, but has one bad habit. She'll wipe her face on a couch arm or your leg. Drives me nuts.

You should see her though with the chicks. She'll go check out new ones in the brooder, but I'm affraid to let her sniff to much or too close, cause she has big nostrils. hehe

I just hatched some out yesterday. I have an auction up discribing them. I'd give you a couple if you want. I have more due on the 6th.

I have to wonder how long he goes on drinking binges for?? I mean to come home and think someone just magically built coops in your yard? I think he has some more issues than just drinking. I think it is wonderful that you sat with her and chatted. I am sure she probably needed someone to talk to as her husband doesn't seem like he would be much help in his state. Just think you might have found you a new friend!! There is a silver lining!!!

Alcohol does impair judgement and memory.. I doubt logic was in the guy's head when he flipped out seeing the chickens in "his" backyard.

To the original poster.. I'm glad you got most of your chickens back safe and sound.. its great to have wonderful neighbors like that!
