Am hoping I’m not too annoying as I’m new to all this - just want the best for these chicks
Have mentioned I was never intending to get chicks but they came upon me because they were being “discarded” and didn’t want that to happen.... so I hardly know anything about anything at all! Thank you everyone who reads and especially to everyone who has replied to my posts - you are all so encouraging and helpful to a newbie like me! Truly appreciate it!
So this sweet girl..... was going to be “left to natures ways...” because of her funky feet. When I heard that I scooped her right up and now of course she is my favorite!!! She is such a happy and friendly little thing to my family! She lets us cuddle her and makes these adorable cooing sounds - she will run to the corner of her little crate when she hears our voices!!! Ah I just love her so much and I don’t even think we’ve had her two weeks!
ANYWAY!!! She does indeed have some foot issues...it looks like she is either missing toes and/or they are all webbed together? But even if webbed it seems she’s missing some...her feet are definitely not like the other chicks.
To note - she perches beautifully! She loves the little sticks, boxes and crates I’ve given them! She is always the first one to hop up and to perch at the highest point! She is also quite a bossy b*tch as she is the first to eat, drink, scratch and explore the new toys, and the others let her!! But then she guards the tiniest one, and at night they all sleep in a sweet pile!
A few people who’ve met her and are familiar with chickens suggested I clip her toes or take them to a vet to be done? But my gut instinct is to let her alone since she seems to get along just beautifully??
Wanted to double check with all you experts as I want her to have the best life possible! Please advise me if you are able! Thank you!
(Sorry for long post!)
ETA - maybe 3 weeks if that? Got
March 25 and was told 4 days old
