and not hardware cloth.
Somebody mentioned having a 'webcam' in the coop to monitor chickens.
I like the idea because after the other week, I am jumpy, plus I know I have some baddies in the neighborhood, one of which is my own pup (but she is cute)
At the same time, my husband is housebound but would love to see 'his chickens' - well, I let him name the RIR.

What are you using for cameras? I had briefly looked at 'Blink' security cameras, the equipment seems reasonable, I am not sure what the service costs are.

at the same time, I wondered if somebody uses a 'raspberry Pi mini-computer to control the coop environment. Personally, I can't wrap my head around it but I read an article where a fellow used it for his aquaponic setup with fish in the tank and a vegetable bed above. I would also love to include a couple of solar panels - at some time.

while I am not one who wants to control my house via smartphone, I think I want some timers and switches I can control that way! It has been raining and thundering for 2 days and I found myself contemplating my options: braving the storm and risk getting zapped, or leaving the light on in the coop. I opted for the 2nd choice (but the chicks crawl under the heater plate anyhow.)
