Not Breathing Right

I have a good size Black Austrolorp that doesnt seemd to be breathing right. He is always breathing hard and when I let him out to play he starts breathing really hard without doing anything except walking around.

What should I do?? Are there any Medications that I can give him that would help?

when did this start? does he have any other symptoms... running nose, hacking, not eating, runny poo?

He has been like this for a while now I'm not real sure. He might have even been like it since he was a baby. I dont know what his deal is he is one of my prettiest birds. There are no other symptoms that I have seen.

i'm no chicken expert, but did he experience some kind of trauma? i once had a chicken accidently pinned between the roost and a treebranch, and ever since then, she sounds as if she's weezing, and breathes heavier when she's doing alot of activity about the yard..

No I cant think of anything that could have happened to him! I just hope he will be ok

is he wheezing?

does he have a big crop?

how is his comb?
pale? blue-ish? normal?

what do you use for bedding?
check for any signs of mold or mildew..
where does he roost? is he in a draft? near the floor?
any ammonia smell in the coop?

His crop is full. I dont really know if you would call it weezing (I dont think I would) but he starts breething harder when he gets excited or something.

No drafts anywhere and there is brand new bedding.
I havent noticed it very much for a while now so it might have been some type of cold or something.

It's possible he has a heart defect of some sort, making him short of breath, but hard to say. Does his comb turn purple on occasion, a really off color?
