I have a good size Black Austrolorp that doesnt seemd to be breathing right. He is always breathing hard and when I let him out to play he starts breathing really hard without doing anything except walking around.

What should I do?? Are there any Medications that I can give him that would help?

Hi, welcome to BYC, and sorry you're having problems. Please read the following BYC post, and have answers for all the questions posted. There are some real pros who can help you here, but they'll need all the info in the link. I don't know much about illnesses, but I do know how to find info! I hope someone will be along soon to give you a hand. Good luck!

He has been like this for a while now I'm not real sure. He might have even been like it since he was a baby. I dont know what his deal is he is one of my prettiest birds. There are no other symptoms that I have seen.

i'm no chicken expert, but did he experience some kind of trauma? i once had a chicken accidently pinned between the roost and a treebranch, and ever since then, she sounds as if she's weezing, and breathes heavier when she's doing alot of activity about the yard..

His crop is full. I dont really know if you would call it weezing (I dont think I would) but he starts breething harder when he gets excited or something.

No drafts anywhere and there is brand new bedding.
I havent noticed it very much for a while now so it might have been some type of cold or something.
