Not eating

I have 6 hens they went outside for the 1st time Saturday, it's been nice out everyday, they are scratching and pecking the ground they haven't touched there feed the 1st time and seem to be drinking very little as well, in the brooder they ate well and drank 2 quarts of water aday. Right now all they are doing is hiding alot. They have a 30x30 fenced in lot and get put up at night. Also having trouble getting them back in the coop at night. ANY HELP?

Chickens that forage generally eat less commercial feed. They may be getting enough moisture from the vegetation they are ingesting.

If this is a new flock, you can lock them in the coop for the first few days so they understand that the coop is home and return there at night on their own.

They are consuming lots of forage with has water in it...They need to be trained to go back in at night....Slowly herd them in....
