Pulled 1-yr old Lavender hen from run 16 days ago; head tucked and not eating
Put in a heated barn with 10 days syringing Tylan and Nutra-Drench
Empty crop nothing feels lodged
Not egg bound
Pale comb
No signs of runny eyes, labored or raspy breathing
Still not eating or drinking on own and will put down if I can't figure this out
Any ideas?

Can you post any pictures of her? Has she laid eggs recently, and were they normal with hard shells? What do her droppings look like? I would give her some vitamin / electrolyte mixture, such as Poultry Cell or NutriDrench 2 ml daily. Vitamin B complex tablets are useful as well. Have you tried offering wet chicken feed, cooked egg, tuna, or ground meat? Is she puffed up or hunched? Have you treated for possible coccidiosis with Corid in her water?

Marek's would be my guess I'm afraid. It doesn't always exhibit with neurological symptoms. My guess would be that she has a tumour or maybe several, perhaps in her digestive tract. I would guess she is pretty emaciated by now after so long with no food. It might have been best to try tube feeding her but by now her systems will be shutting down and the kindest thing you can do is end it for her.
Do you feel able to open her up afterwards and take a look at her organs and take photos if you are able, then we may be able to help you figure out where the problem lay or send her off for a professional necropsy perhaps..

She hasn't laid eggs in quite sometime. He poo started out watery bright yellow/green with greens un-digested in it. She doesn't poo anymore because not eating or drinking...did the nutridrench and wet food and scrambled eggs...wouldn't touch them.

Yes..her Brest bone has become prominent, sadly. I agree that she should not suffer any longer. I may send for necropsy. Thank you.

Here is a list of poultry labs and state vets to contact for a necropsy:

If you find out any results, it would be nice if you could post them. So sorry about your hen. Some things you may be able to tell with a home necropsy, but the testing that the state vet can do is much more thorough.
thank you!
