Just sharing our first case of bumblefoot.

Noticed ShyGirl sitting on the ground yesterday in the run. First saw thought she was dust bathing. Second time noticed her limp/flap away/wobble.

Brought her in. I didn't notice anything right away. Gave her some wet mash with egg and Nutridrench after we trimmed her nails--thinking they were part of the issue. Secured her last night, and this morning she was still wobbly.

Brought her in, and found a scab. Son helped hold her while I cleaned it, then wrapped it with triple antibiotic ointment. She's a big girl so we're letting her rest inside. At least she's standing now and not just waddling.

Here's to hoping she gets back up and going (don't tell the others but she's probably the favorite lol)

In my experiences with bumblefoot it can take some time and multiple treatments to fully cure it. I usually soak, clean out wound, reapply ointment and rewrap every couple days. Some people have had some pretty good luck with using drawing salve plus the antibiotic ointment. After it is healed a corn cushion or pad can be used till the skin on the foot toughens up again as to avoid a recurrence.
