not laying after an attack

We went away to Key West(and its chickens) Upon our return I found 6 hens missing. We had someone caring for them, but our dogs were gone, so I imagine something in the woods or in the air noticed the lack of protection and went to town. Now with the absence I have a non laying flock. Could it be a shock thing...mourning....?
They were doing great I had a mixed bag with 16 hens and 3 roosters...getting about 7 eggs per day. Now I haev 10 hens and 3 roosterws and 0 eggs per day. We also had a shot of cold nights.
Very puzzled Does anyone know what may happen next?

Sorry for your losses...
It could be a combination of things.
The attack would stress them out so that they could stop laying. It's getting darker earlier and brighter later, so less daylight=less eggs.

also, a change in the population can stress them into the non laying phase.

How long would does non-laying phase last..is it unpredictable? I'm gonna have to go BUY eggs!

Yep, stress is one of the worst ingredients you can give your flock. Being prepared to keep the flock safe, no matter what the situation may be is the key to a happy healthy flock. Good Luck.
