I ws getting about a dozen a day, and suddenly I am lucky to get one a day. This has been going on for about ten days now. I have seen several others posting similar problems, so maybe they have stopped laying, and not hiding like I thought? How can I tell if they are hiding? They are totally free range, I have no secure spot to enclose them, so thats out.

They may be hiding the eggs. Mine does that, found 17 eggs in a secret nest recently. Are their combs still red? That's an indicator of active laying.
What you can do is maybe leave them in the coop until late morning before letting them out. Then they have no choice but lay where they should. I have a small run surrounding the coop and when the layer stray I keep them in there for a few hours or until they've laid before letting them loose. It works.
