We have 4 black Australorps 17 months old. It has been really hot here in Va. and We have gotten one egg in last 4 days. Today I found a tiny egg in the run which they never have laid in the run before. Is it the heat causing this. Their water is changed everyday day and food topped off.
Thanks for any help

Do you only feed this or do you feed treats too?
Grubblys and watermelon and other fruits that are on the “can have” list. They have oyster shells and grit always available.

How hot is it getting there? Some of my hens stop laying for the summer, because the heat stresses them out so much. Or I suppose they could be going into an early molt, but the days aren’t really growing shorter yet. My money’s on the heat.
