Hi all,
We had a few girls for 4 years; and I used to stay up late late at night reading the forum and loving it! Then blankety blank predators got our small backyard flock; and we have been sadly without any for a while now. The yard has seemed strangely quiet and boring. No funny antics to watch or chicken stories to tell. The coop has become a storage shed and the covered run a place to keep our bikes.

But . . life is good and my SIL has a new flock of chicks and hopefully will be giving us three this week. I guess I'll be lurking around the forum again and getting back into the joy of the chicken world.

Glad you decided to join us.

So sorry about the past losses, but really glad you are going to give it another try. Only 3 weeks and you'll be back in the swing.

Welcome back to BYC!

Hope you get your chicks. What kind are they?

Good luck with your new flock!

Thanks for your suggested link to the predator page. Our dog was not interested and totally ignored our last chickens, but the post was a good reminder about reintroducing him slowly and not assuming that he will remember that he didn't "care" about chickens before.

Not sure what kind. . . more will be revealed. They are fairly young - they just got them at TS. I only hope that they are hens. (we can't have roos in our city).

Good deal now get those bikes out of the run, and spruce up the shed. Welcome to Backyard chickens
