Hi,
My daughter and husband wanted chickens years ago. My husband took it upon himself to just get some teenagers a few years back and here we are. 22 chickens (7 roosters, 15 hens). Some as old as 3 years, some as young as 6 months. It has been quite the journey and we have learned by trial and error. It is nice to have a resource, for sure. We live in Tennessee. We, my husband, turned our barn into a chicken condo. The roosters all have their own rooster run (we don't have the heart to get rid of them) and one day hope to make a bachelor pad away from the hens. Not sure what kind we have. I have researched, but for this, not necessary. The latest trial and error are their nails. So, I found a tutorial from BYC which brings me to this thread and starting over with BYC. Hubby and daughter started it, but I am the daily care taker and really enjoy them.
Thanks for the info and I am sure I will be here again with another question.

pics of the newest members of our family. We got them as chicks, hoped for 8 hens...ended up with 5, so had to make 3 more rooster runs, which brought us to 7.
