Hi. I was a member before. Tragedy struck our home causing us many tears at the loss of our flock. I couldnt bare logging in for over a year. Alas my password is lost to the foggy corners of my memory and I thought...fresh start all the way around. My husband built me a new Chicken Palace and today I have started my new flock. I have Cream Legbars and Blue Orpingtons in my incubator.
Not gonna lie....I missed this site so much.

Welcome back then! I can see why you miss this site so much. Is this your first time raising Orpingtons and Cream legbars?

No. I had RIR/PBR cross, Silver Sussex, Blue Orpingtons but my first go at Creams. I also had Bronze Orlopp Turkeys. I was very attached to my flock and am looking forward to re establishing it again.

I'm so glad that you didn't give up. One of my friends had some really good show quality Orpingtons and I got to hear all the adventures she had with them. A lot of people like them because they are good layers and have great temperments I don't have much experience with Cream Legbars because I'm in the show world half the time and they're not commonly shown but I did do some research on them and I hear about them all the time now that I'm on BYC and people love them for their laying skills.

Orpingtons are amazing birds for locations with colder climates. I live North of Whitehorse in the Yukon and it can get pretty cold up here.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the incubation and the new flock!

Any one here, I'm new at baby chicks, I'm I to leave the red light on 24/7, my baby's are 3 weeks old, and had a white light, they were up all night, then to day I changed the light to red, and there sleeping, so what do I do in the day time? Leave the light on?
