Not so much of a predator....

    Just a pest! He and his herd ate 30 lbs of chicken feed in an hour or so.You can even see some of it still on his nose. He's not afraid of me, he's not even afraid of snowballs.

    I know it must be annoying for you with the price of feed being so high, but thats just soooo cool that they come right up to you like that. They are so pretty....

    Folks in the mountains here refer to them as "yard rats.". Dead deer on the side of the road (obviously struck by some townie's car) engenders comments like "Somebody got another one - too bad it's going to waste, though."

    I think it's cool when I see the deer that used to roam this property before I fenced it now make their way along the fence line on their way to better eats. No more apples for them. Ooh, pretty deer - keep on movin'.

    I'd be furious if a deer family chowed down on my flock feed.
