Hey all, new here and fairly new to chickens. We have 4 hens about to start laying, one Golden Sebright who does lay, 4 silkies, 4 salmon faverella. So, we kinda know what we are doing. We have bought everyone from Rural King, except my Sebright who was our first chicken given to us. We recently, about a month ago, bought 3 polish from RK. I got them home and noticed one had their eyes closed. About 5 days later, with compresses and such, both eyes were finally open. About 2 wks ago, I notice the same one with the eye problem has a few bubbles in one eye, and sneezing. I look online and immediately separate him. I see all the issues and everything online and its making me crazy. This chick is fine, eating, drinking, playing, flying around and definitely still growing as hes the biggest of the 3. Still sneezing but no bubbles since the one time. I'm just really not sure what to do. Please any advise will help. Thanks in advance.

Make aure that ventilation is good, and try to limit dust in feed or bedding, no wet spots or mold in the bedding. Sneezing is just a symptom, and it can be from dust, poor ventilation, mold, or a possible respiratory disease. Eye bubbles can be a sign of MG sometimes, but could be something else since you don’t see it now. I would watch the chick. Hopefully, the chick wasn’t exposed to something by a customer at the feed store. My RK sometimes has open bins where people can handle the chicks, and that is so bad for people wanting to buy healthy chicks. If the chick doesn’t get better, you could try Tylosin in it’s water, and keeping the eye clean. Antibiotic ointment can be put into eyes twice a day if there is infection, but clean the eye with saline.

Thank you so much, the eye is not infected or anything now. It is completely fine. Hes just sneezing now. Alot. But I'll see what I can do about ventilation.
