Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
Is it usual for a duckling to not stand / walk all the time?
Is it usual for them to fall?
1 week old duckling walks up to his water dish and lays down to drink out of it... will walk / run little spurts and then lay down / sit down.
