Not sure about my humidity

I am on day 14 of incubating some Light Sussex and Rhode Island reds but until yesterday the humidity was 61% now I’ve got it down to 56%. Would this be bad for my eggs?

Ok, so I know there are better pics in these forums, but this drawing will give you an idea of what to look for when candling your eggs to check the development of the air cell inside the egg. If the humidity is too high, there will be less air, and if too low, there will be more air.

Whereabouts are you?
50% and above is usually way to high for most of us. It can work for people in very very dry areas.
Shell conditions also play a part on how much humidity is needed. Porous shells can need a little higher, whereas dark or dense shells need less.

I’m in Liverpool England but the incubator is kept in a dark room anyway to keep it away from sunlight

It might be, but you won't know until you candle it & check the air cells.

I'm going to guess 50-60% is way too high for you too.

Have you candled them?

Can you do it today? You don't have many days until they are due to hatch. If the air cells are way too small, you can lower the humidity now, for a few days.

That’s what I’ve just been thinking I’ll be candling them soon. Thank you for the advice
