Not sure if easter Eggert

400

Note I do have two barred rock chicks in there as well

Yeah, I'm sorry those look like Easter Eggers

My profile pic is currently of my favorite bird: her name was Gem and she was an EE

Very pretty, but not what was advertised... I'm not sure I would be able to stop myself from contacting the breeder again if I was in your situation. I would be pretty disappointed

I thought so, I'm actually happy I can tell them apart since my kids named them. It's difficult to tell our 4 production reds apart. I just hope we get some blue or green eggs.
It's a little annoying they are falsely advertising their birds.
Thanks for the quick response! I truly appreciate it!

That's one reason I like the EE so much. The variety, both in their feather color and the egg color. Birds of all one breed/color make it hard to tell who is who, especially for kiddos.

It'll be nice for them.
So far we have 1 brown leghorn, 1 RIR, 4 production reds,
Now we got the 4 EE's and 2 Barred Rocks.
Everybody got names... just hard to tell the Productions apart... still doesn't stop the kids from calling them whatever they want

X2. Another thing I like is if you have chosen EE's to breed you can happily focus on what interests you and not on a Standard of Perfection without feeling guilty for mixing this and that. Theoretically you could produce a prize winning hen of a recognized breed that meets the standard perfectly but never produces an egg or her eggs are small or she is a poor layer.
In breeding EE:s for a bit I focused on size, (for dual purpose) but that sort of went by the wayside when I put the emphasis on egg size, color, amount of eggs laid, point of lay age and even sex link EE's. All fun projects without feeling I'm messing up a breed.

Sorry no response got sick... thanks for all the responses... I was hoping they were all easter eggers the hatchery claimed they were so I am in deed happy hoping for hens but it was a straight run so it will be a surprise in the end... last year the easter eggers I got turned out to be all roosters hopping for a better turn out this year.
