This morning when I let my hens out to forage my 7 month olive egger, Fanny Mae, was happily eating grubs and acting normal. This afternoon I noticed her standing by herself, droopy tail, holding her wings lower, looking very lethargic and open mouth breathing. I brought her in and observed her for about 45 minutes and in that time span she pooped three times. All of them were watery with greenish formed parts. The last one was almost completely liquid with no color. She did eat yogurt I gave her and some water I added apple cider vinegar to.
I put her in a box and in my bathroom so I could watch her overnight. When I checked on her again I noticed she laid an egg. It’s odd looking though. She’s an olive egger and normally lays beautiful green eggs, but this egg is not all green patches of lighter colors and very chalky. Should I still be concerned or is that why she’s not feeling well and it’s better now that she laid this egg she’s ok?
