My wife and I recently purchased these from a supply store. They said they are Orpington pullets but we are afraid they may be turkeys. Are these actually chickens or turkeys?

Sorry some of the stores, I will not mention which, are notorious for selling the wrong chicks, sex, breed. The managers don't know anything and neither do the sales people.

In all fairness I must add some stores have open areas with chicks and shoppers pick them up, put back in wrong pens and therefore more disappointed buyers.

X3! They're guineas! Here are some of mine. I had pied and pearl. Guineas are extremely loud though so if you live anywhere near other people you may need to sell them. Otherwise your neighbors might hate you.

Keets will need slightly different care than chicks. Best to do your research now. No medicated feed for starters and it should be high protein. I always used game bird starter. Their legs are also super fragile compared to chicks/chickens so be mindful of their little legs and tootsies while handling them.

Love guineas!

Wow. Ya those are keets.
Man I can see mixing up on breeds but to get mixed up on species is crazy.
That store should quit selling any poultry.
That's like going to the hardware store to buy a weedeater and them handing you a chainsaw.
