Not sure on how to treat worms please help

When my chicks had gapeworm, my vet prescribed panacur. Its a liquid wormer that can either be administered directly using a syringe into the chicks beak, or into the drinking water.

My girls are six months and one year. I read to use ivermectin, but I never treated them for worms before and I don't want to make them sick if they have roundworms, so I am unsure if I should give them wazine and then ivermectin and should I give them the ivermectin on the skin or oral

if you havnt used wazine before,i'd use it first. wait about 14 days then use the ivermectin pour on. i administer the ivermectin on the back of their necks making sure it goes on the skin. it should not only get rid of the gapeworm, but also get rid of round worms that have hatched since you first used the wazine. if you used wazine say, within the previous 6-8 months,i'd go ahead with the ivermectin.

Have you actually looked down their mouths to see the worms? There are other problems that can mimic the "gaping" effect seen. If so--the wazine first sounds like a good idea. Levamisole is supposed to be very effective on gapeworms.

I don’t want to hurt any by trying to hold their mouths open. They all look healthy and happy. I found a worm in some poo it was round and reddish about 3” to 5”
