Hi, I am new to backyard chicks and I have a pullet who sounds and looks like she is having trouble breathing.
She started out sneezing and would shake her head a bit. She holds her mouth open sometimes and stretches out her neck out. She is not eating as much and sits on her roost more than before. Her breathing sounds like bubbles too. I don't notice it all the time but just went to clean things up a bit and took a video, but I cannot figure out to upload it.
It has been rainy here and I let her free range. She used to range with three cockerels but we got rid of them a couple of days ago. There are now two new pullets as well. I thought maybe it was out of sadness that she was uninterested in food and roosted, but now I am not sure.
Any help? I have been reading about respiratory diseases and don't know if a reg vet can help.

There are a number of respiratory diseases from bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Environmental irritants, mold, dust, feed, poor air circulation, too much heat, can also irritate the respiratory systems. Adding new chickens in recent days could also have brought in an illness. Do you see any bubbles or foam in either eye, swollen eyelid, nasal secretions, or swallowing or dripping of mucus from the beak?

Testing can help identify a disease or lack of disease. Antibiotics such as Tylosin, Denagard/Tiagard, oxytetracycline, or doxycycline only treat bacterial diseases and mycoplasmas. Sulfa antibiotics can treat coryza.

Nothing. She had green droppings this am but is normal again now. She had quite a bit of DE on her nose about a week ago from the ground. She has plenty of energy to pick on the new pullets amd other than her weird breathing, shd seems fine. She is over 15 weeks now. She had it before we got the two new ones.
