Just picked up some new birds. They are 3-4 months old so they aren’t molting. But when I got home I noticed this on one of the Easter eggers. As you can see. It looks like
Broken and plucked feather above the tail and tail feathers missing under the tail? The tail looks really skimpy to me. Any advice would
Be appreciated!

Yes that does look like some plucking. Can you locate the preen (oil) gland near where the pecking has occurred? Those can get inflammed and swollen. They may have been overcrowded or had too many cockerels in the flock. BluKote spray or a horse cream called Nustock cream or pine tar can be used on the bare spot to help prevent pecking. Can’t seem to find that, but she doesn’t trust me yet so she kind of hard to get to stay still. I will go in today and spray her with BlueKote. Yes she was in with quite a few other chickens and ducks. The owner had bought too many this year and needed to rehome a few. Thank u so much for your help
