Have you been dealing with a heat wave where you are? Heat stress can cause soft-shelled (or even shell-less) eggi
I don't know why the back button is also clearing your replies but yes it's been in the high 80s and 90s also I did find an egg in the yard yesterday that was very soft shelled
Her age probably does play a big roll in it too because she's at least 7 years oldIt could very well be a product of heat stress.
There are other causes of soft/shell-less eggs like the hen's age, or a lack of calcium, or just stress in general.
You might just double check that they've got enough oyster shell and that they have plenty of access to shade and cool water.

I've seen a slow down in laying and one very, very soft egg this week due to the heat.
I know posters on here have recommended giving a calcium tablet for a few days. It's not something I've ever done, so you might want to hunt around for articles related to soft eggs.
