Hi folks,

I am after a 2nd opinion on whether the embryo has died :(
No veins anymore and when I keep the egg still and candle from the blunt end, the black dot floats to the top.

This is 10 days call duck egg.

Hi folks,

Same thing happened to me last week I am incubating Calls too. One egg at about day 6 the veins disappeared and then a tiny black bean shape appeared but never moved. I kept egg in incubator for 4 more days to make sure, and at day 10 I tossed it. Would have left it in there for eternity swearing it would develop if the old me was incubating. I do know though that advice is necessary for my first hatch. My breeder/shipper advised that I toss but said if it was not smelling i could leave in a few days to make sure. She knew I was scared and newbie. Day 10 it looked exactly the same.

If you are on the fence leave it another day or two then check for ANY growth/movement. If it is still giving you nothing and you still see no veins i would toss. The veins disconnecting from the egg and vanishing were my tell. They call it a 'quitter' from what I have read up on.

SO HAPPY YOU HAVE GROWERS AT DAY 10! HUGE GOOD VIBES SENT YOUR WAY FOR HATCH!!! I AM ON DAY 21 NOW AND SUPER EXCITED!!! SWNDING LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO THE BABIES!!!
