My last little one hatched today, and it’s pretty awful. Poor thing just keeps peeping and wiggling, but I’m pretty sure it has a few organs and maybe intestines outside its body. It also has what looks to be a large bubble under the skin between its neck and wing.
I’ve taken a small piece of wet paper towel and gently placed it over the organs, then wrapped it in a cloth on top a heating pad.
What’s the humane thing to do right now? Is there any likelihood of survival?

I rarely say chances of survival are slim, but in this case, I have to say that’s what I think. :(

If you want to see how it goes, first thing is get that wet paper towel away from it. Put it on a dry paper towel in a small bowl. Kinda prop up the head higher than the butt and see if he makes any improvements at all.
