not sure whats going on

I have a white leghorn hen who is a couple years old(not sure of exact age) and recently ive noticed shes gained weight so that she cant hop up into the coop at night and her abdomen seems to be a little swollen. Shes still laying regularly but her eggs are quite large and often have wrinkles on the shell and runny egg whites, I got her for free in december 2013 and she started laying again after her moult in late january but her eggs have always been wrinkly and runny.her temperament and appetite are regular I'm just curious if anyone knows what might be going on... ive noticed the changes within the passed two weeks after she laid a soft shelled egg one night out of fright; a raccoon tried to get her but i found her hiding and unharmed under some recycling. Is she ok??

I would give her a good exam, her belly and area under vent to see how swollen up it actually is by comparing her to another. Area can be so swollen in some hens it can make the vent gape open. Here is a good post - casportpony has experience with this type of problem. See near end of thread.

Thanks for the advice, i can definitely rule those problems out now.
