Not sure where to begin...

I can relate to your attachment to your chickens. I inherited 8 from my neighbors when they moved. I thought they were just chickens but they have become my girls. I lost one shortly after getting them to disease and was devastated. There has been allot of good advise here on integrating new chickens with Fluffy. One other recommendation I would make is to ensure you spend some time predator proofing your run/coop by installing a predator apron. I went overkill on mine but I am determined there is nothing digging into my girls run. Here is a picture of how I did mine. I used 24" Hardware Fabric with a second layer of Coated Welded Wire Fence

Glad you're here Willow!

Very sorry for your loss.... and I vote adding in a couple of younger chickens. Fluffy would be better to have the company and yes, as previously stated, will teach them young'uns whats what! I think you bringing her into the sun room is smart, since you don't have a secure place for her outside at night.... correct?

Several people have house chickens. If it is possible for you, it might be something you'd like to consider.
I have a coop that closes up for night time.
They use to put themselves to bed each night when the sun went down. Friday night, they roosted on top of the coop and we forgot to put them in the coop. Tragic mistake.
I have been bringing her in, because she is by herself and I'm being protective. Lol. So, two of the 3.5 month old chicks would be ok?

In my opinion, yes. They will still be small enough for Fluffy to keep them in line. One she MIGHT bully until it was afraid of her.... so that's why a pair would be good.

Thank you so much, like i said, i really wasn't expecting to love them like i do. I cut up chicken appropriate veggies for them and just really enjoyed them. Fluffy is around 9 months old, I've found more buffies that are around 3.5 months old, fluffy was never peckish and has always been very sweet, but i dont know if i should get two more and keep them apart for a few more months? Look for chickens that are older? Or just keep fluffy by herself. Or maybe just get one more for now?

I had 4, got rid of 3 due to bullying. I have added Bantams in and I don’t think my hen is happy about the company at all. She was so sweet and easy going, our favorite. Her personality has changed and she is a loner and a rump. Hopefully she will integrate herself in eventually. When you add others in, her lone hen’s personality could (or could not) change. I just wanted to share my experience.

I love that! Thank you!!

New members need to be 3\4 the size of the current one(s). You need to quarantine them away from each other for at least two weeks. Three is better. During Quarantine you need to monitor the new ones to make sure they do not have parasites or illness.

Introduce the new ones at night after dark. Watch them in the morning to make sure they are getting along.

If you are getting baby chicks, you will need to wait until they are 14 to 16 weeks old to add them to the existing flock(one chicken for you). Hopefully you can find some that are already old enough
