Not sure why my rooster died

He could have just had a weak heart to begin with and hormones kicking in was just too much for it. If you think about it, roosters do lead a stressful life with all those women to take care of.

I am sorry for your loss. It's always horrible.

Thanks, he did have 5 young ladies to take care of. Poor boy!

Was it his first time mating?

He was one of 6 that I got, all same age, only male among 5 hens. He was starting to jump on the girls, but they all are only 6 months old. None laying eggs yet.
