So me and my husband found an egg, I thought nothing of it because we found one another time and we didn’t get any results but now I see it’s growing and I am not sure how far along it is. I am new to this duck hatching if you have any advice that would be great. Mainly I would like to know how far along u think it is??

I now remember when we started incubating it was March 15. I checked to see what stage it was at under the light and it basically looked like an egg. So I thought it no good but kept it in the incubator. Now I believe it is actually a duck I am thinking it almost ready to hatch. Any advice I am getting very nervous.
It would be more useful to put this in your other thread, so all the information is in one place.

I'm going to ask a moderator to combine them.

Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of useful advice :(

If it is a duck egg, and it started incubating on March 15, then it has about another week before it will be ready to hatch. If it was a chicken egg it would probably have hatched already.

Certainly looks like it has a week or so left. Candle the egg again in about 3 days, and show us some photos then. You’ll know it’s ready to be put into “lockdown” when the egg is almost entirely dark, the air cell dips up along the side, and you can see some shadowy and / or triangular-shaped movement (internal pip) inside the air cell.

Depending on what species of duck egg this is, you may not be able to keep the baby. Any wild, native species is illegal to hatch, keep, or tamper with, so you’d want to get them to a wildlife rehab right away.
If it’s a domestic or non-native duck, you could keep it, but you’d need to get them a ducky friend or two & do lots of research on how to care for them properly. Otherwise, I’d rehome the baby.
