Not what I thought of as Basil-Chicken......

Our Border-Collie was insistent that we come outside and look at something.... He was woofing and scratching at the back door.....

Long story short..... We had managed to get our Basil plants through winter, and then Dizzy discovered that the pot held some dirt.......

Here's a fresh pot of "Basil Chicken" a La Dizzy........



It was nice out and I suppose the dirt was nice and warm......



She didn't care about onlookers, either......



Shep couldn't believe it..............

Oh no! That's too funny. Your dog tried to protect the basil, but Dizzy the chicken put up with the barking to experience the pure bliss of sand bathing in the sun.

At least you got a good laugh out of it and some great pics, too!

She is so silly! She is having a great time. I bet she smells good too.

I have had a few of our hens use my planters as well. They love the loose soil for a dust bath, and sometimes they just like to graze.
