Nov. Egg Swap....Closed....

I just got home from work..
My eggs will go out Tuesday. Had them all packed ready to send out when I realized if I sent them today they would sit in some p.o. somewhere over the weekend. So I will pack fresh eggs and just eat the ones I packed.

The weather here is going to get really cold...snow Saturday. My lazy girls wait until late morning or early afternoon to lay. Since I work, my collection time to get them fresh from the "factory" is the weekends. Hoping everyone north of the Mason-Dixon has decent weather at least until they get their eggs.

They are calling for snow here on Sunday. I just hope that whoever has me will give me a heads up as to when they send them. I would hate to forget to look on my front porch and dig the box out of the snow...

I agree. My mail carrier and I have a love hate relationship...she loves to aggravate me and I hate it! I usually have to request that anything I don't want to sit in the mailbox all day long be held at post office, at least it is heated there.

Maybe that might be a suggestion for the swap? Email, pm, call, or by whatever means let the person you are sending to know when to expect shipment? I guess that would conflict with the sender being undisclosed; we get a name but not the user name used here.

Once in a great while, we will be gone for a whole weekend or a day in the week, not very often but it does happen. In my case, if I know something will be coming I can call post office and have them hold it; if I do not know, it will be sitting out in my mailbox till dinnertime or until we return home. Perhaps I am in a very small minority that has issues with getting things from USPS?

HA!! At least your puts them in the mailbox!! Mine hangs them on the post in a bag!! And the darn P.O. won't even hold them at the post office for pick up, I tried that once already!! The only thing I have going for me is that the mailman runs right before the school bus, so if I don't catch him when he gets there, it has only been a few minutes!

Oh btw, I am sending mine out TOMORROW!!

But mine are going south for the winter,

so they should be fine temp wise!!

I was thinking that in the future the ship date should be set as well, then everyone would know about when they would arrive. then if you can't make the deadline for some reason or another, the op has everybody's info, so they could email the pertinent people letting them know if theirs will be early/late.

I agree that there should be something in place that would allow a person an idea as to when their eggs will arrive. Not to make things more complicated or cause more work for poor Tiff,

just would make sense to have an idea as to when to expect delivery.

I agree with you all, but the only problem I see with that is the hens. They do not alway's lay when they are suppose to, lol.
I will however try that for next months swap and see how it goes.
I am alway's open to suggestion's
