Hi everyone. I'm so glad to find people to share my addiction. I've been on chicken sabbatical for two years. We were in a isolated area and moved to a small rural village. I didn't think I could bring my guys to a more populated area but, what do ya know, I can. I've started a little laying flock of five girls and over the weekend hatched out 12 chicks in my funky incubator. I'm really excited about the summer with these chickens.

Is there anybody out there from Nova Scotia? Love to hear from everyone tho.

Welcome Steph! I'm not from NS but my grandmother was and I have visited when I was young. I recall the beautiful scenery and the rural beaches. It seemed like a nice down to earth area. Glad that you have discovered the BYC!

Welcome from upstate new york! Best thing I ever did was buy a house that I didn't know was in a zoned Agricultural district. I figured if I can hear the cows down the street, I aught to add to the cacophony of life with some singing of my own. But seeing as how my wife wasn't too keen on my musical selection, I bought some chickens instead. Enjoy the flock!
