November 2009 Quilt block of the month *CLOSED*

I put my blocks in the mail yesterday evening....nothing like working on the last minute.

One of the ones I mailed is for you...in pink. It's a Churn dash with the background in a floral with pink and the dash is white.
My grandmother, who recently died, always said when you quilt you should include the unexpected.
So in her memory, I've been reversing lights and darks in some traditional patterns.
I kind of like this because it's like a little girl's pinafore atop a floral dress. I'll try to post the picture I took.

As a side note, I photograph every block I've made in the swaps. Sometimes it's an experiment or a combination of colors/prints or a pattern that I've not used before and as a single block that is mailed out, I like to keep a record.

Well..I went to town to mail mine yesterday along with a dozen other things I had to do and...you guessed itthey are still on the back seat of the Tahoe!! I hope to get them out tomorrow..sorry!..I promise to get Januarys out early!!
