November egg swap~~Check thread for updates on shipping!!

I figured out why the eggs I sent out took so dag-blasted long to get to my swapper. I took the eggs to the PO last Monday along with another set that was purchased by another BYCer. Well, I thought it was strange that both sets of eggs did not make it to their destinations by the holiday, or at least by Friday. I decided to give the PO a call and after some beating around the bush, the guy at the counter told me that he had screwed up and had forgot to put the eggs on the truck until WEDNESDAY. Needless to say I was upset, but at least he was straight with me. I explained to him that it made me look bad as a seller since I took the time out of my life to make sure that they were ready to go on that Monday and they were not shipped until 2 days later. I also explained that the eggs decreased in hatchability with each passing day and that I would most likely have to replace eggs, and therefore lose money because of his "mistake." He apologized, but I didn't get any compensation offers. Ugh.

Edited because I have a massive headache and can't spell right now.

of my 8 pretty cream eggs, only 1 is left in the bator.. looks to be going strong though.. so i'm hoping it will make it.. i have 1 MAYBE 2 duck eggs due to hatch 2 days before it so it will at least have ducky friends...

Well i woke up a day early for lockdown and heard cheeps. I run to the bator and i see a duck zipped and ready to hatch in low humidity in the turner.

WOO HOO!! That is good to hear. I was worried that with the trip there would be a problem. My last hatch I had a 66% hatch. Would like a higher percentage, but with a homemade incubator, I'll take that.

LOVE ALPACA EGGS!!

Aren't they so cute? I just love how the tuxedos look!
If these are the swap eggs that I sent, then there might be a nice variety of rosettas, browns, and some tibetans. I had 14 hatch from the ones that I set on the 14th and 15th and even the browns have some nice shading. They are so sweet! I will try to get some pictures on my BYC page and maybe someone can tell me more specifially what colors they are (i.e.-cinnamon).
I think that my tux roo is a rosetta, but I'm not sure. Can someone take a look at my page and let me know?

Good luck with your hatch Sillystunt and keep us posted on how it's going!
Did you have some coturnix before these guys? (Just wondering what other colors you had)

I candled my duckie eggs today. Out of the 11 that survived the P.O. trip I only have 5 with lots of movement. All others were clear with broken air sacs. Of the 5 two are marked B and 3 are marked A. Ducks, could you please tell me what I am trying to hatch here?? Not knowing is driving me crazier than I already was...
