November Hatch-A-Long (2014)

Well my 4 CCL eggs are on lockdown!! Know if they will just hatch and no bator problems!!! I was checking on them, which I seem to do every hour, and I swear I heard a peep...lol Maybe a internal pip!! A little early but I seem to always hatch early even with lowering my temp this time so time will tell!! Good luck to all hatching I keep coming back to see what eveyone else is doing and hoping I will stop staring at my bator...lol My other 13 or so are a week after these 4! Addiction!! Will keep you posted

So far, here's numeral uno: My son is calling him/her Rollie lol cause it was rolling once it was out of it's shell. It's got awesome control with it's head and is already trying to peck the eggs shell pieces...lol



Our second pipper (the malpositioned chick) is struggling a bit. It seems strong, but having a hard time getting anywhere. I hope it makes it. We have 2 more that I think are close to zipping...at least I hope....lol 2 that are making good progress on their pips and the last pipper is just sleeping I think as it hasn't done much on the pip....lol Boy you can hear the peeping now!!! lol

We have 2 more that I think are close to zipping...at least I hope....lol 2 that are making good progress on their pips and the last pipper is just sleeping I think as it hasn't done much on the pip....lol Boy you can hear the peeping now!!! lol

I'm glad it's not just mine. The tiny thing hasn't done anything all day but sit there and pant and cheep. It's beak is still right on the opening it made. I really don't want to have to go in after another chick.

What exactly is yours doing? Has it moved or begun zipping at all?

Same thing. Just lying there upside down, (looking real uncomfortable) moving it's head panting cheeping but no zip and I don't think it's pushing that much, I'm not sure if it can in the position it's in. Hoping nature is nice to it and praying for the little guy/girl. though it doesn't look that little all bunched up.

On a good note, we had a second one hatch that I didn't even know had pipped. Must have pipped underneath. And I think a third has begun to zip.

Question, how long did it take for everyone's humidity to get up to 60-65? I locked down a little early tonight so I had time to adjust it as needed before final lock down late tonight. I couldn't get humidity up past 52% so I added another bowl of water with a towel in it, still not over 53% so, I moved first bowl under thermostat that the fan is blowing onto and covered the hole behind the thermostat I use for adjusting it. Within 30 minutes it went up to 66% and I had a lot of condensation on the top window so took out the 2nd bowl to see what happens. Whew. My old incubator didn't have a fan and I don't remember it taking so long to get the percentage up and stable.

Amylynn, that is a beautiful baby! I had a malposition in a hatch once, she hatched just fine just took a little longer, I pray that's what happens for you.
