Hi, I'm a beginner farmer in West Hungary. We recently moved to the countryside with my darling from the capitol. I'm a computer programmer and kept a part-time remote job so that we can cover our expenses. I grew up in a village, but it was long ago and it's so different when you have to build everything with your own hands!

We started with fifty emu chicks. We fell in love with emus the first time we met them. We are in the process of building yards and hutches for chickens and ducks too. As soon as we are ready, a neighbor is going to give us five hens and a rooster, they will be the next residents of our farm, and we are planning for at least twenty-five more birds this year. As for other animals, our yard is regularly visited by all the cats from the neighborhood. One of them, a nice tabby female decided to join us and gave birth to a handful of kittens in the shed. Later this year we are going to bring two puppy dogs, probably of a traditional Hungarian breed called komondor. They will be the guardians of our estate.

We've just broken up a piece of land where we are growing lucerne for our poultry. So we are ambitious but we are in the very beginning and inexperienced with livestock breeding.
